Historically the members page seemed to have been heavily biased towards the maintenance and train crew. Maybe they are they the only ones with a camera ? Hopefully these pictures start to re-balance matters.

With power car M52064 going into North Star works DMU Group members were required to prepare the unit for lifting and putting it back together again afterwards.

The DMU Group welcomes new volunteers Katie and Rosie Archer and Willow Lawley, all of whom will be working with Mandy Holden, our Catering Manager, in the DMU Dining Car.

DMU Group Vice-Chairman, Phil Allison, recently acted as a passenger assistant on a mainline steam excursion run by Chiltern Trains from Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street, using GWR steam locomotive, number 4965, Rood Ashton Hall.

The event was featured in 'Railstaff' newspaper (see page 8) and Phil was pictured with work colleague, Chris Barber, Customer Services Manager, standing next to the locomotive.

In addition to being caught in action by the railway press, our own stalwart DMU Vice-President, Trevor Daw, was also travelling on the train as a passenger. Trevor found not only Phil working as part of the train crew, but also discovered another DMU Group member, Ian Baxter. Trevor duly recorded the event and the 'mainliners' are seen proudly standing by the locomotive just prior to departure from London.

We welcome two additional members to the DMU this month, Emma Shepherd and Dave Philips.

Coincidentally both are staff members from Bewdley Station, where the DMU is based.

Dave is the Assistant Station Master, has also been an SVR train guard for many years, and is no stranger to our group.

Emma is Bewdley's very own "Porter-ess" and can claim to be responsible for painting the many station finger boards and also the signage around the station.
